Forget regret, or life is yours to miss.

The notion of anxiety/fear/terror is one that binds us to our failings. We feel it in every aspect of what we do. Our role in life is not to avoid fear, but to embrace it; to challenge the very thoughts that lead us to freeze and turn them into action. Developmentally, we face fear in each of our progressions through the various life stages.

Infants and children must overcome their separation anxiety at the removal of an attachment figure.
Adolescents must face the prospect of failure and rejection.
Adults see fear in the prospect of responsibility.
Older adults must face the prospect of death.

A month into this year and I’ve already managed to get myself behind on everything.

You know what I want, and I’m 99.999999999…% sure you want it too.

Spend my first Hogmany at the Edinburgh Street Party and saw Primal Scream perform Screamadelica for the very last time. Such an amazing vibe and loved singing Auld Lang Syne with complete strangers. This is Connor and I at the statue of David Hume on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. The toe is a shiny gold from all the students rubbing it for luck before sitting exams.

Let’s hope our toe-rubbing efforts bring us good luck for 2012 and all that it may bring!

11. Your Family

The most supportive, intelligent and hilarious people I know. As much as I love growing up, I miss seeing all of them everyday and all of the silly arguments and fun we had.

Christmas time will be cherished.
